About Me

Hi, I’m Suzanne. I’m an occupational therapist dedicated to supporting women in the transition to motherhood. After starting a family, I personally struggled with postpartum anxiety and depression, which prompted me to reach out to other new moms for support. Realizing it was difficult to meet other women while at home with my newborn, I founded Sea Cliff Moms, an online community group, to connect with other women in my Long Island neighborhood. I manage and moderate the active 1,000+ member group, where women organize gatherings, share children’s items, and give each other much-needed advice. I discovered how valuable that community was for myself and the other members, and realized my skills as an occupational therapist could help fill the support gap for new moms. I founded North Shore Women’s Support (NSWS) to fill that need. I work with women through individual sessions and support groups, focusing on the physical and mental shifts necessary for women to become mothers. In addition to my experience as a mother, I’ve personally struggled with infertility, a high-risk birth, and a traumatic birth experience. Not all pregnancies and births are butterflies and rainbows, and unfortunately women aren’t always comfortable expressing themselves when they’re not. In addition to supporting your physical recovery, I hope to serve as a guide to help navigate the complicated emotions that often arise during this journey.
